20th - 26th of September 2021, Izola - Isola
The Association of European Cultural Institutes in Slovenia – EUNIC Slovenia – is organizing a series of events, readings and discussions on books from 20 to 26 September 2021, with the title EUNIC Reads. It will take place in an ephemeral reading space at the lighthouse of the picturesque coastal town of Izola, which invites beachgoers and passers-by to read and socialize. Authors from different countries will also take part in the events.
The program will be divided into four parts. Three will focus on topics relevant to European citizens: the environment, reading among different generations (the future of reading) and linguistic diversity. The fourth part will take place on European Day of Languages, with a very entertaining family program on the theme of the Pinocchio story, which is one of the most translated books in the world.
During this time, you will be able to read e-books in many languages from the Europe ReadR platform and other virtual libraries on the spot, and print books will of course also be available.
The program is part of the Europe ReadR project of the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
All events and meetings taking place in the scope of this programme are free of charge.
Only visitors who meet the RVT (PCT) conditions are allowed to attend the events.
In case of rain, all events scheduled outdoors will take place at the Manzioli Palace.
